Here's the bottom line: Creigh Deeds loss in the Virginia governor's race was not a referenum on President Obama. Instead, it was a case of a poorly run and executed campaign. The win in New York was huge, in that the right wing of the GOP attempted to muscle its way in and get their congressional candidate elected, yet to no avail.
Some form of healthcare legistation is going to pass. Just as with the energy bill, the Senate is going to practically write their own, but none the less, once they write one, it will pass. President Obama wants to sign it before Christmas, but I honestly do not see the Senate voting for it before then: more than likely during the late winter.
Since I mentioned energy, I may as weill quickly state that for the past several months, I have been advocating for climate change legislation, from the national security perspective. The bottom line is that our elected leaders and those who formulate policy need to be able to do so without the burden of foreign oil. Every national security decision our leaders make is dependant upon the effects those actions would have on the oil market. That needs to stop because this handicap disables our leaders from truly serving the Great American Public.
